Whatever happened to the Orange OB1-K?

Did they ever release?
Were they discontinued?
Did Orange realise it as a bit wrong for the market?

I did read on the Orange forums the advertised weight as wrong, and was roughly half what it was printed as.

Can't seem to find it on he website, and everything I googled wasn't much younger than the old BC thread on it.

I was thinking about this the other day.

Wasn't it priced at same as an Ad200, or even more? Decent sounding amp from the clips but hard to see how they could justify the price.

Yes can't remember the price exactly but was well over a grand.
Sounded killer from YouTube vids, but weight and price seems to have stopped it coming out altogether I think.

I'm also curious, I actually had one on pre-order from a Swedish dealer but they cancelled it a couple months ago. Not 100% sure why but their explanation was that a supplier to Orange had failed to deliver parts that were up to spec for the OB1-K. I wouldn't say that's reason enough, though.

I really wanted one of these. It sounded a lot closer to the tone in my head than I get from my Thunderverb 200. I think it was retailing at about £1300.

was really interested in this, and does seem strange that its totally gone.

the price point didnt really worry me, but maybe not enough big pro muso's wanted it as lets be honest a normal pub gig guy really doesnt need an amp that big.

maybe they have gone back to the drawing board for a redesign?
