Telebass Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015
You forgot to mention that it has a capped maple neck, the only bass in the Fender range with this neck construction since the '66 slab Precisions.
All American Standard, Deluxe, Special, and even the Mexican Standard- all maple fbs are caps, even the ones with skunk stripes. There have been other random examples since the 60s. The earliest Telecaster Basses in 68 were also caps. Quote
Dood Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015
Basically, I really want a 50's precision classic but didn't want to play the new price. So buying this one to change into a 50's P with Anodised Gold Scratchplate, Chrome bridge, Chrome knobs and screws to save a bit of cash. Cheers.
So essentially these are the same spec as a 50's P? (Same neck profile etc?) Other than the obvious pickup difference that is... Quote
Dood Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I've had a closer look and the Waters P has a different radius to the 50's too. Hmmm... I do GAS for a maple P and the 50's versions have gotten some good reviews. Quote
