Skol303
Great stuff guys! Keep them coming. I've recorded some bits and pieces for mine... and have scribbled some very sweary lyrics that will require a 'parental advisory' notice should I go ahead with them. Or maybe I just need to wash my mouth out with soap and take the Watership Down approach. Nah, **** that! Skol303
I managed to get the vocals down over the weekend and finish recording some guitars, so now I need to bring everything together and apply some polish. It’s all turned out rather angry, political and potty-mouthed …so I’m definitely going to need a 'Parental Advisory' notice on my track this month . Just don’t tell Mary Whitehouse! Is she even still alive? (Googled: no). In other news I’ve started on some new material with Mike Flynn (Basschat’s ‘urb’), which is going to keep me happily busy for a few months More on that in due course.
I cant speak for myself as I am but a novice , but I am learning that the quality of what you record matters , loads of distortion doesn't often hide much , and even then to make it fit you might have to use only a certain frequency range of it by using the EQ to give each part musical seperation , that said, wait till you hear my effort , you will no doubt wonder if I actually listen to what I am saying out loud
I've done guide tracks of all my instruments but finding time to get down decent takes is very difficult! Still , I recorded our gig on Saturday , and some songs haven't got any (audible ) mistakes by me . in a gig the moment is gone and no-one is really judging , in a studio it feels a different ballgame altogether to me . I have got some BVs now by Lurksalittle and her friend , just waiting for a real singist to do the rest of it now

Stephen Houghton
Here is my entry , imagine a future where music is the life force and superstar DJ's are Rabbits (bear with me on this one ), raves are the places of worship and this is the vibe. Anyway what the hell I'm on about I have no idea, but the picture took me down this route. Want to try and enter more of these this year as I missed quite a few last year due to other commitments. Stephen Houghton
Referring to the video above 'Where would we be without drugs' I mean why else would you think ' I know, why don't we ................. , some of the best music ever was created under the influence, actually thinking about it most of the best music ever. Skol303
Well we've got a ruddy good turnout for January already! Well done all If your work is still 'in progress' (like mine...) then you have until midnight on Saturday to knock it into shape. Or just say hell with it, and post it up anyway! If you want slightly more accessible Derek look for the Mirakle album with Jamaaladeen Tacuma on bass, or his last performance with the Shakin Ray Levis - bot on you tube.
