sk8 Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Got one today. A Christmas Eve purchase! Looking forward to seeing what it can do. Any tips or tricks? Quote
Kev Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Great pedal I enjoy mine most in the lower drive settings, less is more for me with this pedal, I use Darkglass pedals for the heavier drive and it works brilliant with these. The bite switch very much off with a little treble boost instead, and speaker emulation on, sounds great for recording Quote
fretmeister Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Start with the example settings in the manual and tweak from there. Run it directly into the FX RETURN on your amp, leaving the amp preamp section out of the signal path. It's great! Quote
Lozz196 Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 I started off on mine with everything at midday, bite and speaker sim selected. I then just tweaked from there to get a twangy driven SVT style sound, so had character at 9 o`clock, treble and mids at 3 o`clock, and gain at around 1 o`clock. Really gnarly old punk sound. When I was depping I reverted to everything at midday and that was a good warm solid sound that fitted well with a variety or soft-rock songs. Quote
fretmeister Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 I like the B 15 settings best, thick and rounded. Superb for Motown stuff. Quote
sk8 Posted January 5, 2015 Author Posted January 5, 2015 I do Like a B15 type sound and have been after a motown vibe so will check that out. I remember mightily enjoying the SVT setting on my v1 Quote
sk8 Posted February 26, 2015 Author Posted February 26, 2015 Well, I sold this on and got a BDDI. Couldn't be happier. Quote
danbowskill Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I was the total opposite...... Thought the bddi was pump without the mids. Quote
Thunderbird Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015
Well, I sold this on and got a BDDI. Couldn't be happier.
And the BDDI is a hell of a lot cheaper to Quote
fretmeister Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 The VT DI is only £158 with free delivery on Thomann at the mo. Quote
Muppet Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015
The VT DI is only £158 with free delivery on Thomann at the mo.
Got to be just a bit careful with Thomann prices. They don't bill you in GBP but in Euro, and the GBP price shown is indicative only. Once you factor in your banks exchange rate and the currency conversion fee it can mean a difference of around £10-12 on a £200 purchase. They're still good prices (especially now given the current Euro rate) but don't rely on their GBP conversions. Quote
fretmeister Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 I've been buying with the Amazon system and the most I've had added is £2 so I'm quite happy! Quote
Guinness21 Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Got really bad pedal envy lol, lusting after one of those Quote
fretmeister Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015
That sounds good, what's the Amazon system?
You can now pay via your Amazon account. The seller has to be set up for it but I'm seeing it in more places. It's really just using Amazon rather than paypal. Quote
