Gray Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 (edited) A very unusual electro acoustic bass ! Big bodied (fits in a cello hardcase) 34'' scale - sounds incredible. Its the only acoustic bass guitar I have ever played that allows you to actually hear (and feel) the low E. Handmade in Cornwall. It was originally left handed but has at some point been converted to right handed - meaning that the jack output is on the 'top' of the body. When I brought it I talked to Mr Kif about having a spike made for it, so to play it like a baby upright or mandobass. Really is a quality instrument - beautiful detail and construction. Selling, along with some other bits and pieces as I am time poor at the moment and don't like having instruments sitting not being played. I'm not going to post this happy to meet up / deliver at cost. I'm based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. W1_Pro Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Hi there, thats a lovely looking guitar, it might be just what I'm looking for! Would you be kind enough to give me the dimensions of the thing. Also I'm interested in the volume, I'm looking for an instrument that could keep up with a washboard and an acoustic guitar without an amp (thats a bit of a holy grail I know!). Have you ever used this in a group setting? If so, what was the result. Many thanks Best S
Gray Posted January 3, 2015 Author Posted January 3, 2015 Hi S Thanks. Its a very cool thing - I used it for a couple of pub jams acoustically and its certainly got enough volume to sit behind an acoustic and vocals. i would say its slightly less loud than a double bass, but rather louder than any small bodied acoustic bass I have come across, its certainly got a lot more warmth and bottom end as well. I woudn't want to put it up against a kit but that said - a little busking amp would give it enough to cut through most things at the low end. Dimensions Total Length = 49 inches Width at widest point of body = 21 inches Depth = 5 inches. Cheers Gray
spuggy9 Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Please let me know if you reconsider posting. Thx.
spuggy9 Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Also, is a hard cello case included, or are you simply stating that it will fit inside one ?
Gray Posted January 9, 2015 Author Posted January 9, 2015 Hi, let me know where you are - I travel a fair bit so might be able to deliver / meet up. I should be clear r.e. the case. It comes with a Warwick Cello gigbag. I don't know if it would fit in a cello hardcase (might be slightly the wrong shape).
