40hz
I had to learn this for a covers band once, sadly I didn't tab/transcribe it. Really nice bassline. Edit - that was cuddly toy Edited January 3, 2015 by 40hz
Kiwi
I had to learn a 36.5 bar bass solo for this song, cycling through three different key signatures and two time signatures which I forgot to transcribe or record. EDIT: Apparently that was just the bridge in Cuddly Toy. No wonder it didn't sound right.
leschirons
Ooh, I'd forgotten just how good they were. Thanks for reminding me.

billfaro
Hi all. I think Roachford was a bit underrated, done some brilliant stuff, they were big in the 80s then just seem to vanish. But Andrew is now with http://mikeandthemechanics.com/ has been for a while,
JTUK
I agree, I thought he was a very good songwriter, and never achieved the heights he maybe deserved. Not having a pop at the OP, but these sort of songs should be easy to jam out and work out by ear, if we are talking bass. Just chart the chords for a simple format of V, ch and bridge..etc etc Useful skill to build on for all sorts of tracks...
Roland Rock
I hadn't heard that song before. It's not really my thing, but I definitely detected a hint of Phil Lynott style phrasing in his vocal delivery. Which is nice. billfaro
Roachford was on Radio 2 with Jonnie Walker talking about his life, He said he was quite happy about not being in the mega stardom thing. He seemed to be an OK guy. OK I will listen to the song and try to work it out. Thanks.
Drax
Had to learn this recently for a friend's party. There's no tab anywhere, but there are lots of YouTube bass covers. This one was useful and depending your orientation, pretty cute http://youtu.be/yG9K9Bm3weE

JTUK
I'd use this as a template http://www.e-chords.com/chords/roachford/only-to-be-with-you
Delberthot
Andrew still tours regularly and has a phenomenal drummer. Puts on a fantastic show - if you've never seen him live then you have to. Ticket prices are usually around the £15-20 mark

spectoremg
Saw The Christians at The Hammersmith Odeon in '88 I think and Roachford were the support band. That gig was value for money.
