Chambo
Any ideas where the best place to get a cheapish decent replacement for an old Squier Jazz bass is?
Marc S
You could opt for a Fender Licensed neck, like a Mighty Mite Or, if you want to spend a bit less, you could place a wanted ad on here I did just that, for a lined fretless Jazz neck and got one in good condition, for a reasonable price Good luck with your search EDIT: There were a couple of responses to my ad too - there are probably more spare bits & bobs lying around, unused than you'd think... Probably because a lot of people start self-builds and other projects, and then run out of time or interest.... I also joined a local Guitar,Amp & Gear exchange / swap / sell group on facebook Worth checking if there's one in your area....... franzbassist
How about WD music from these guys? Official Fender necks are £199 for the Mex neck, easily available off eBay. Edited January 6, 2015 by walbassist
Chambo
Possibly worth more than the bass
franzbassist
How cheap are you talking then?
Chambo
Just looked on eBay and think that it's almost cheaper to buy a new Squier bass than get a new neck
hamfist
Here ... http://www.customworldguitarparts.com/ I have oneJ neck from them, and another on the way. IMO significantly better than Mighty Mite. THey just are a bit more rigid IME and slightly better finished. Use Graphtech nuts too.
