WhiteNGold Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Hi folks, Needing some work done to one of my basses and was wondering if anyone can recommend me a luthier in or near Derby? Thanks in advance Quote
Allie Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 Colin Keefe did some nice work on a neck last year for me: http://www.keefeguitars.co.uk/ and he has a vid on You-Tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUCwqQkYpDc HTH Allie. Lee-Man Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 If you can make it over to Notts http://www.xperienceguitars.co.uk are amazing. I've used some top luthiers before and they are genuinely up there with the best. Quote
KevB Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I've also used xperience guitars in the past with some mixed results. On the Derby side of Nottingham is Robin Asher, he's done work on 2 or 3 basses for me in the recent past and always does an excellent job. I get the impression he's not really interested in trivial £30 set up jobs any more though, likes to get into a job that's worth his while & expertise: http://www.theguitardoctor.net/ Quote
Dave_the_bass Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 I've always used Andy Farrell with great results. He's near Ikea. When I've found his website I'll edit this post with the link. Quote

Marillionred Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Another one for Colin Keefe. Sorted out my injured Lakland, and a lovely person too. Quote

Also it turns out I was at school with Jenna down South in the mid-late 70s! PS. They've only worked on guitars for me though; I've never tried them on bass. Edited January 7, 2015 by Bassnut62 Quote
