dave_bass5
Another mug taken in by all the hype :-). I've done 4 gigs with mine now and can't see me needing any of my other basses. I'd say it's not as open and natural sounding as some jazz bases I've had, it's quite a thick tone no matter what I do with the EQ, but that's not really a negative, and it's helping me get over not using a P bass. dave_bass5
I actually prefer the passive tone, but I'm so used to passive basses I'm using active a lot as its new to me. I can't get over how nice the B string is. So different to my TRBX, which I thought was good.
Raslee
Must admit its the first active i've taken too...yet i'm generally a passive chappy...man these are pretty good...back to spanking

Marvin
I'm shifting all my gear as I'm taking a long break from bands etc. However, I'll be keeping the MM V7. It's too good to sell.

My son has shown an interest so even if i dont use it again he might.

Raslee
Rehearsed with my V7 fiver last night, funk me (albeit reggae action )...bloody awesome - had a huge grin all night, superb tight low B - I actually prefer this over the previous Lakland jazz's that I have owned. Our guitard thought it would cost at least £800+...and I only used it passive...bloody marvelous bass.
dave_bass5
I prefer it over the Lakland DJ5 I had a few years ago. Not quite as comfortable to play but tone wise I feel it's more what I hoped the DJ5 would have sounded like.....at quite a few £ cheaper. Funky Dunky
Yeah, true. UK retailers will be gutted - stocking these things is a licence to print money.
Marvin
From what I understand Sire have a fairly strict criteria for pricing and only Thomann could meet that in Europe. Most of the operation for Sire is direct sales.
