franzbassist
Hi guys After a it of googling, it looks like a lower gain valve in V2 will reduce the gain in the drive channel of the Fender Blues Deluxe. Can anyone confirm? Thanks Gareth
Kiwi
5751 valves in my Burmans have done the trick.
Bassnut62
Ha! 5751 preamp valves in my Blues Junior have done the trick; along with swapping the original Jensen C12N speaker out for an Eminence Cannabis Rex and swapping the power valves for Gold Lions. You could even go down to least gainy 12AY7s, if the 5751s are still too dirty for you. PS. I think V1 was the key valve to change in my Blues Jnr; but you could probably change all of them to 5751 and no harm would be done. NB> I am not a tech tho, so best to check with someone who really knows that amp. Luckily my Burman came with original Mazda 12AX7s and they are so smooth and delicious that I am happy to keep them where they are.
