Jono Bolton Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 I have a Peavey Foundation bass and the original neck screws were rusted pretty badly and I couldn't get them clean, so I replaced them with a set from Axes R Us. The new screws though are standard Fender-style, and are slightly thinner than the original ones. The neck fits pretty tight in the pocket but I can still wiggle the neck slightly. Where could I buy screws that are thicker than than the Fender-types I've got? I stupidly binned the originals. Quote
KiOgon Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Why not plug the holes & redrill for the smaller screws? Quote

[/quote] I did think about it, but I don't have the necessary tools to do it myself, and taking it to a tech would be both costly and time consuming. I use the Peavey on a weekly basis for my band so new screws for the neck would be the most cost effective and time efficient solution. There was a Foundation neck plate and screw set on eBay recently but someone bought it before I got paid, such is my luck! Edited January 10, 2015 by Jono Bolton Quote
kodiakblair Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Jono I've got some digital calipers coming tomorrow so I'll get the size from one of the Foundations. Be around dinnertime before I can let you known. All went well with the build then ? Quote
Thunderbird Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 If KB can tell us the sizes I will have a look in my spares box and see if I have anything that may be of used to you Quote
kodiakblair Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 I'm getting 4.8mm on my early 90's Foundation. I also get 4.2 mm on my 82 T 45. Those sizes any good. Quote
88reaper88 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Ram a match or two in the hole and screw them back in, works a treat Quote
