Sorry for the guitar content but the collective wisdom here usually comes up trumps regardless...

Looking to replace the scratch plate on the above, its from 1983 iirc, is one described a US/MIM likely to fit?

Hard to say for certain.

If I was going to do this then I'd track down the measurements for the US and MIM ones and compare those to what I'd already got.

The screw holes probably wouldn't match, so be prepared to drill new ones (the old ones will be hidden anyway).

The pup holes and neck cutout will be in the right place, but may be a slightly different size (you can't 'shrink' those but you can widen them).

The other alternative would be to remove the scratchplate and it's associated electronics and get a custom one made using that as a template.

Screw holes are different on an 83, they did funny plates back then and the bridges were different too, and don't even get me started on the jack sockets and Jazz Bass plates! Jokes aside, cool guitar though.

Icastle is spot on, get it traced and replicated.
