Mcdrewson
Have recently rediscovered Standing in the Shadows of Motown - the Life and Music of James Jamerson by Dr. Licks. If you're not familiar with it, the 1st part of the book looks at Jamerson's beginings and eventual place in music history. However, the other half of the book is the scores to many of Jamerson's best basslines with introductions from the likes of Macca, the Ox, Nathan Watts and many more of my bassist heroes. Two CDs come with it with the basslines panned left and the backing panned right so you can play along to the tracks. I can't recommend it enough if you're into Motown or interested in James Jamerson's story.
