We're going to need more info, otherwise you're just going to get a list of pickups...

What's your bass? What sound are you looking for? What do you like / dislike about your current tone? What's your budget?

..etc :-)

My suggestion would be to try your existing pickups though a quality passive control circuit, ditch the pre-amp & see what sounds you get then B) you might be pleasantly surprised & save yourself a £100 or more :rolleyes: in the long run if you still want to buy pups then - - -

Likewise, Johns wiring looms are pretty darn good - I recently sold a bass and the buyer contacted me once received to ask what tone circuit I had in there as it sounded so good. Just a passive Ki0gon wiring loom.

Yes, try a good passive wiring loom first with 250 kohm audio taper pots and a .047 capacitor with your existing pickups. Then you can make a more educated analysis of what you do or don't like about the pickups and go from there.
