liffordmark
I'm changing the pickups in my Jazz and looking recommendations. Was thinking bartolini J pickups:???
wateroftyne
We're going to need more info, otherwise you're just going to get a list of pickups... What's your bass? What sound are you looking for? What do you like / dislike about your current tone? What's your budget? ..etc :-)
liffordmark
Budget of around 150, Sandberg Electra TT jazz copy. Find tone has to much mid. Looking for a more rounded fatty sound

KiOgon
My suggestion would be to try your existing pickups though a quality passive control circuit, ditch the pre-amp & see what sounds you get then you might be pleasantly surprised & save yourself a £100 or more in the long run if you still want to buy pups then - - - Kits to fit are available from - - see below Cheerz, John
Thunderbird
I think Sandberg TT's run in passive or active anyway but I can whole heatedly recommend one of Ki0gans looms they are great and a great price to (now wheres me commission Mr K lol)
Lozz196
Likewise, Johns wiring looms are pretty darn good - I recently sold a bass and the buyer contacted me once received to ask what tone circuit I had in there as it sounded so good. Just a passive Ki0gon wiring loom.

0175westwood29
love the wiring loom! well worth checking out! ive got Nordstrand pickups in my jazz, really happy with those. andy
iiipopes
Yes, try a good passive wiring loom first with 250 kohm audio taper pots and a .047 capacitor with your existing pickups. Then you can make a more educated analysis of what you do or don't like about the pickups and go from there.
