spectoremg
Fair enough, it was just me then. Maybe the amount of time the vinyl dinosaurs were given irked me. Digital is fab! And well said re the Kraftwerk doc - as influential as the Beatles, really!? Also I wouldn't trust Paul Morley as far as I could throw his ego. They've probably influenced me more than the Beatles; I've got quite a few Kraftwerk albums but I don't own any Beatles stuff, though obviously the Beatles have influenced me indirectly as there are lots of artists I like who were themselves influenced by the Beatles. I thought what the some of the other people were saying was pretty good too, but Morley & that other bloke who looked like a cross between Al DiMeola & a 70s porn star were just so up themselves. toneknob
I loved all three programmes. However, during last night's episode, while discussing Kraftwerk's "Autobahn", did anyone else think, "no mate, they don't sing about fun on the autobahn!!!!!!"
Yeah that was cringeworthy wasn't it. The best bit of the Kraftwerk doc was the Pocket Calculator footage, got a bith bored with it otherwise, although you could base a drinking game around how often Paul Morley says "distilallation"

discreet
I can tell you that a certain talking head is a total dick off the screen as well as on it.
spectoremg
discreet, would you be talking about the dick who gave Peter Gabriel's 3rd album a bad review cos he was having a bad day?
Buzzy
Sound of song was really interesting but I only lasted for about 20 minutes of the Kraftwerk doc. Too many pretentious twats (P.Morley) for me, also once you have watched this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwaxWoJPUC0 Kraftwerk will never be the same. spectoremg
The Morley is one of horse proportions. Seriously though, not one bit of criticism of Kraftwerk in the whole show.
dudewheresmybass
My main contention with the last episode was that the chap said that chic's good times, and queens another one bites the dust were the same bass line. For someone that has a good an ear as his- he must be deaf!!!!

toneknob
He said John Deacon "borrowed" from Chic, not that they're the same. Still, bit of an over-generalisation.
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE
Stumbled across this, while in bed with the flu. I liked the programme. The presenter was very knowledgeable , and enthusiastic. Thought that they could've strung another episode out ,and that it was a bit rushed at the end. Regarding Kraftwerk; this is probably about the 3 rd long documented programme that I have seen over the years. Talent wise , they have got it . However, that Morley bloke needs to listen toKlaus schulze, Tangerine Dreamm,Jean MichelJarre , Eno etc to find the real deal ambient wise. I am tempt d to buy autobahn , but if I join spotify , will not bother. They don't move around much. I do admire the fact that, for their entire career, they handled the press on their terms . But unless they had a spectacular light show , they are soooo boring .

RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE
Now that Edgar Froese has passed away,I wonder if the Beeb will do a documentary on Tangerine Dream ?!? About time IMHO
