cocco Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Hi Chatters. I got an EHX crying bass for Christmas and I'm trying to find a good use for it, but I can't think of any players/tracks that use bass wah So can anyone name some for me? Quote
spectoremg Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 That funny diddle-de-dee sound on 10cc's Rubber Bullets is a Rick put through a wah, so if you ever cover it... Quote
Truckstop Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Should be plenty of examples in Tool's back catalogue. Timmy C uses a wah in Cochise and I think a few other Audioslave/RATM numbers. Sorry, can't remember any particular songs right now! Truckstop Quote
Graham Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Troy Sanders uses one here, not very audible though http://youtu.be/2BiOITZHC8I Quote
zero9 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Stanley Clarke has used a wah quite extensively on recordings. Quote
happynoj Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015
Timmy C uses a wah in Cochise and I think a few other Audioslave/RATM numbers.
'Calm Like A Bomb' and 'Mic Check' are probably the most well known examples. I think that 'Born As Ghosts' also uses the wah although I could be wrong. Quote
happynoj Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015
Sir Psycho Sexy by RHCP
That's an envelope filter, not a wah pedal. You could probably get a similar sound if you were quick with your feet though. Quote
Cosmo Valdemar Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Pantera - Uplift, I'll Cast A Shadow. A great big meaty wah-bass solo in each one. Any Wetton-era King Crimson will be drenched in wah. And probably the most terrifying bass tone ever achieved by man. Quote
