Horizontalste
Long story short is, a friend of mine at work is doing some fundraising for The Princess Trust & Macmillan. One of the events is a night in a social club with raffle and various other stuff. He asked for a band so I've got together with my neighbour & the drummer from his band to do an hour set. We all come from different musical backgrounds but we'll make it work. I haven't done a charity gig before and being responsible for the set I thought I'd ask the ever reliable basschat community for ideas. We will only have time for one rehearsal so we need stuff that we can get down quickly, any suggestions? All that's on the list so far is Midnight Hour & I Need a Dollar. Cheers Steve
taunton-hobbit
A couple of simple rock 'n' roll short numbers - Great Balls of Fire/Long Tall Sally?
Musky
In keeping with your second suggestion, how about: For the love of money - The O'Jays Money - Pink Floyd Money - The Beatles Money Money Money - Abba Money for nothing - Dire Straits Might be erring slightly on the side of a hard sell though. KevB
Can't go wrong with a couple from Beatles and Stones. Others that usually seem to work across a wide demographic (which is typically what you get at these things unless its a specific group raising the money) include: Keep On Running Mustang Sally (yes I know but I've never seen it empty a dancefloor yet) Play That Funky Music Happy (Pharrell) Get it On or 20th Century Boy
