molan Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Isn't that just the regular 'street' price for a new one of these? Quote
Dan Dare Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Ahh, the old "Save £15 squillion" routine. Inflate the price, reduce to normal selling price and advertise a massive discount... Quote
UglyDog Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Ah well. Thanks for the heads up anyway John. Quote

lowdown Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 (edited) Blimey, they've got expensive. I have had mine for just over ten years and it cost around £1200.00 new (or maybe ex demo, can't remember). Mind you, top Basses and the Preamp sounds (to me) nicer than the four string version. The neck on the five is a dream to play. Edited January 18, 2015 by lowdown Quote

It always surprises me that they don't come with a set of MM's signature DR strings on though... Fat Bass I think they are called. Quote
mark_random Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Hello chaps, I thought I would check this out to make sure we've got the price right. As far as I can see the UK street seems to be just over £2200 depending on where you look, so £1899 is a pretty significant saving. I've had a look at the bass and it's in really great shape. It's had the plastic removed from the guard, but other than that it's completely clean. M Quote

Conan Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Are the MM five strings still made in the US? The fours are now MIM aren't they? (after being made in Japan for several years...). An interesting decision from a pricing and marketing point of view. Quote
