The Admiral
Butterscotch, yes! That was my first thought. Mind you my Hayman's got the vibe, even though it's British...
That's quite Wal shaped isn't it? Or is it me? Beautiful bit of vintage bass porn - I'd be afraid to use it, it looks in such good nick.
seashell
Many congrats! :-) I'm so jealous. I would love to be in a band that plays that sort of music. And I even have a cowboy hat in readiness
I thank you, sir... it plays really well and sounds great with Fender flats, too. Almost like a DB. The Hayman/Shergold brands were just as good as Gibson/Fender in the 70s... it wasn't 100% necessary to buy USA back then as is generally supposed.
These basses were the genesis of what became the early Wals (as far as the shape goes), and predate them. The shape was carried over to the subsequent Shergold range of basses too, in fact Early Shergolds featured late Hayman necks.
The 76? It's available... it would be perfect, but I'm still figuring out how to get enough P-Bass tokens to make it mine again! It would actually be great, as I bought that P new in 1976 and I miss it quite badly. Edited January 23, 2015 by discreet
