Muppet Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I don't get it. http://ashdownmusic.com/products/1/Bass-Amplification/21/BSOCIAL/131/BSOCIAL75W/ Am I missing something here? What makes this worth selling at £600? That's a lot of money for a boombox.... Quote
Moos3h Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I looked at that and thought 'hmmm a THR replacement for bass...nice' However they are smoking something VERY strong if they think they'll sell above £250 Quote
wateroftyne Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 'B-Social brings Ashdown sound quality to the desktop' SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!* *This is pure sarcasm Quote
stingrayPete1977 Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Just throw an old jumper over your laptop, job done complete with fire hazard? Quote
Muppet Posted January 24, 2015 Author Posted January 24, 2015 Within 12 months this'll end up being heavily reduced or discontinued..... Quote

stingrayPete1977 Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Asbestos blanket will give the Ashdown signature tone yet act as a fire safety device then. Quote
Delberthot Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 If I read it correctly it has a wireless system built in. Woo Quote
Marvin Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Whatever it's for it's darned ugly that's for sure. Quote
JapanAxe Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Is there no protection for those speaker cones? Quote
Moos3h Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 The fact they won't sell any so will all still be boxed? Quote
Wooks79 Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Well at least Daniel P. Carter will have got a freebie... Quote
The Badderer Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 i guess they're hoping people will spend £600 on something that will do several jobs poorly, rather than spend a few hundred quid more on separate items that will do the job properly. anyone wanting decent recording quality will get a proper audio interface. anyone wanting a decent amp / cab will buy something not made by ashdown. anyone wanting a decent wireless system will buy a decent wireless system. The Badderer Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 it was more of a tongue in cheek comment based on people's usual comments about ashdown cabs on here. To each their own (Nate Mendel uses Ashdown and I love foo fighters) so Ashdown can't be all bad Quote
HowieBass Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Well looking at the advert and the guy using it, it's very 'now' and hip.... Quote
I am with Cosmo on this! I like the look of it. And I have an Ashdown combo I am happy with Now, it's probably not going to be the best at all the things it does (or any) but it's pretty convenient no? Wireless, 2 inputs + audio streaming in + USB out with no latency? And agree, bluetooth is probably completely wrong for high quality audio. But if you want better quality you can still plug in. I wouldn't pay £600. But I am happy to get it off someone's hands for £250 when they've finished with it Quote
BruceBass3901 Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 As an Ashdown junkie, I liked the look of this during the run-up to Namm... until I saw the pricetag :-/ Something like a MiBass and a Mi10 cab could give me everything that I want from something like this (small, interface friendly etc.) for a similar sort of price if not less. My $0.02. Sorry Ashdown!! Quote

BruceBass3901 Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Also, interestingly, Blackstar have launched a very similar product at NAMM. No idea of the pricetag on that... Quote
planer Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I like Ashdown kit but... Six Hundred Pounds Really boys? £400 would still be too much. Quote
