giblett123 Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 (edited) Afternoon all! Here we have my Overwater Jazz in Sunburst dating from 2010. It is a truly stunning example of a passive jazz and for those of you who like the “old school” jazz tone this would be ideal, it’s a great player. I picked it up in the trade just under a year ago but as the bulk of my work is on trombone these days I can’t justify having pile of basses, I need more dosh! Specs are: Alder body in sunburst 34” scale maple neck with rosewood board Hipshot “type B” bridge. Hipshot ultralite tuners Lindy Fraline pick ups. Passive. Weighs in at around the 9lb mark, great balance/no neck dive. Come with an overwater Hiscox case which is in great nick. Condition: A1, it is immaculate, very well cared for, no dings or wear and the colour of the burst on this is stunning. Price: I’m looking for iro [s]£1000[/s] £900 or a near offer which considering a new one is not far off double this, I may take an offer for a quick sale so feel free to ask, I am also happy to ship. No trades this time please, it’s a fundraiser (Unless of course you have a Shires B1 1RT7 bass trombone bell going spare but I think I’ll be out of luck on that one)! petergales Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 This used to be my bass and I traded it with Chris. I had 2 Overwater Jazz basses at the time so decided to let one go. I can confirm that this is a beautiful bass - a real player's instrument. The quality of Overwater basses is well known and a bass such as this would cost over £2,000 nowadays. Chris is a great guy to deal with and totally genuine. Grab yourself a bargain!
chrisanthony1211 Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 It's a pity you don't still have it Peter, it's a beaut, I'd have traded for this!
petergales Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Yes, it certainly is. I was sad to part with it.
giblett123 Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 Cheers for the kind words gents, it is a beautiful bass, I'm just having to be realistic about how much cash I have tied up in instruments a the mo, sad but a sign of the times I'm afraid!
