dmckee Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 (edited) Further reduction to £525. Amazing price for a handmade bass. Looking for a quick sale now, as I'm keen to buy something else. Lovely ACG fretless, was £1000 new. 1 year old, excellent condition, some slight marking on fingerboard from round wound strings but otherwise perfect. Alder body with black walnut top, 3 piece maple neck with Indian ebony fingerboard. 2 ACG FB humbuckers, John East 2 band preamp, 1 x volume, 1 x tone, 4 way switch - neck pickup, rear pickup, both pickups in series, both pickups in parallel. Sounds amazing - rich and full, plays beautifully, lightweight body which balances perfectly. Only selling because I have learned (the hard way!) that an offset body like this doesn't really suit me. And I accidentally bought something else that needs paid for. :-) Based in Edinburgh but can box and ship if necessary. No trades please. Edited April 25, 2015 by dmckee
pantherairsoft Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 That's lovely! Simplicity at its best.
dmckee Posted February 28, 2015 Author Posted February 28, 2015 Well, it's still available, and lovely wood! :-)
Descendent Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 Beauty. One of the best sounding fretless basses I've heard was a fretless ACG Graft Finn. Good luck with the sale!
dmckee Posted March 7, 2015 Author Posted March 7, 2015 Cheers. Still available. Can't believe this hasn't sold yet....
White Cloud Posted March 7, 2015 Posted March 7, 2015
Cheers. Still available. Can't believe this hasn't sold yet....
I am still tempted and still resisting. Not too far from me either. Unfortunately the next couple of months are leaving me broke :-(
dmckee Posted March 7, 2015 Author Posted March 7, 2015 Give me a deposit and I'll hold it for you if that helps. The bass I bought, that this sale is paying for, is on a 0% credit card so it can wait a bit.....
dmckee Posted April 8, 2015 Author Posted April 8, 2015 Further reduction it £535. Need to get this sold!
Dazed Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Simple, understated, a bargain, and if it's like other ACG's then it's as good a build quality as you will find anywhere.
TheGreek Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Lovely bit of kit...shame it has to be restricted to fretless players...any idea how much Alan would charge for a fret job??
dmckee Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 Good question! No idea. If you're interested in the bass, why not drop him a line to ask? Cheers, Dave.
ead Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Alan might be able to swap the neck out for you if he has anything suitable. Worth asking the question.
gingerfish Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Very tempted by this. Any recordings or sound samples?
dmckee Posted April 19, 2015 Author Posted April 19, 2015 I haven't done any recording with it actually but could do a quick recording into Garageband if you're interested? Alan's basses all sound great, as I'm sure other ACG owners will testify.
TheGreek Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Yep, got to agree... Alan's basses do sound great..with the range from the JE pre-amp, if you can't find a tone that you're happy with from one of his basses the tone probably doesn't exist...as soon as I sell my Ritter I'm commissioning a headless Harlot SC..
