Wooks79 Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 (edited) What pedals are out there that are Boss OC2 clones at the mo? Are there any available by builders that have any added functions or mods etc? Edited January 24, 2015 by Wooks79 Quote
Kev Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Firstly, do you mean actual clones, or pedals that are designed to try and get that sound? Quote

[/quote] Mainly actual clones, I have a couple of OC2's and that's what I use, but wondered if there was anything that would give me teh very same sound, but with more options and extras to fiddle with? Sibob Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 Not really. A few people have cloned it as one-offs, but not added features. There's a few 'synth' mods you can make to it. The afformentioned 3Leaf Octavbre gets about 90% of the way there I think, with the synthy direct-less setting on another footswitch, I've not tried the Octavbre, but videos to me sound a little less subby than the OC-2 Si Quote

It sounds nice, less subby as you describe. But it tracked very, very poorly with my p-bass. Where my OC-2 produces full, steady tones, the octabvre was very glitchy and unpredictable. I was very disappointed, because I really like the idea of a switch to solo the sub. Quote
GazWills Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 that is a shame - it's a great idea having that subs switch... Quote
Sibob Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 Just get two OC-2s......BOOM....SOLVED Si Quote
Byo Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Isn't the Markbass octave pedal (small one, not the synth/octave) based on the OC-2? Same layout at least with the -2, -1 and dry controls. Quote
paul_5 Posted January 29, 2015 Posted January 29, 2015 Chord OC-50 does a great job of sounding and behaving like an OC2. Cheaper than an OC2 to leave set to 'sub only', just need an A/B looper then... Quote
dudewheresmybass Posted January 30, 2015 Posted January 30, 2015 Another shout for the mark bass octave. As close to an oc2 as is poss apparently Quote

I'm down to four though! Si Quote
happynoj Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 Pretty sure that the Iron Ether Subterranea is designed to sound close to the OC-2. Quote
