MuseMatt
It looks like an RS924 or RS940 to me... hopefully Bassassin can tell me by looks which it is.
Rich
Have it. The Roadsters are classic basses.

Kongo
I've had two Ibanez guitars in the past (an RG470 and an amazing RG550 that I wish I never sold).
My friend has an Ibanez RG550 and he does not put it down. He also owns an Ibanez JEM BSB and JEM Floral and he STILL prefere's the RG550. It has aged well...the maple figerboard is now more orange than white LOL! Myself I have 2 Ibanez basses (so far)...I fought against getting one for years but they really do play well, sound well and are built extremely well for the price. I have: Ibanez BTB405QM in Trans Red. 2nd hand and was used quite a bit. Serial number half worn unfortunatly... Ibanez BTB556QM in Natural...An awesome 6-string bass which I've used for some time...Not one raised fret or fret edge showing...Not a problem with the electronics and when I took it appart even the neck join was sanded to smooth perfection...Most companies just rush this part as it's never seen...Not Ibanez...not even any left over dust Nothing amazingly collectable. The BTB405 is a few years old not and long discontinued, my BTB556 the same but younger. Might get an SRX next money and banks providing. Oh and I missed out on an Ibanez Musician at a Cash Generator not too long ago....Yeah what a place to pop up...Not sure on the year but well worth having!!!
I'm not in possesion of a camera myself but I got an old pic of my BTB556 the day I got it (standing next to some of my older gear). It's not much but well...it's there. It's about 1 1/2 years old so mind the mess...I'll have a look for others and badger getting a camera to show my beaut of a BTB405QM...Red trans sooks the biz! I also have no clue why I used to use 2" straps for such a big bass... I have a 4" leather one for it now. hubrad
Who can tell me anything about Ibanez Roadster basses? I can buy this '84(? could also be 87 I think) for (only?) 450 euro's and it looks like a good bass to me! Also it meets my wishes (J/P)
That's what mine was, although mine was already ebony board fretless when I got it 20-odd years ago. http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=44673 Absolutely superb bass! I finally found something to surpass it.. Overwater! Gray
I have a very unseemly 80's Ibanez addiction... 1980 Musician MC940. Modified with new finish, new control cover and EMG J type pickups. Plays and sounds wonderful. 1986 Musician MC2940 Fretless. Not a mark on this. Its a beauty. Here they are in sepia. I also own a lovely 1981 Musician MC940 in Pearl White , a 1984 Roadstar RS1200 and 1980 Studio ST90 6 strings. I had a 1984 Roadstar Bass which I deeply regret selling. MuseMatt
I haven't named her to be honest. I'll let you know what I think after having tested it at rehearsal It's my only passive-only bass so I'm curious how I'm going to like it.
Kongo
I do like them ATK's! In RH for me of course. Why did they ditch the 24 fret 2 pickup for the 22 fret single though? I'd like to find the 24 fret dual pickup model one day...be very useful.

I love the look and have been gassing for one for a while!! Edited May 26, 2009 by maxiburke
MuseMatt
Okay, first impression at practice: This thing is loud!!! I have to plug it into the active socket else it'll clip like crazy, which is definately a good thing  The (passive) sound control is really good, and the feeling is very nice. I have to lower the pickup around the E string because the strings sometimes hit it. It looks like the E in the pickup is raised though, so I might have to find a way to lower that. Overall: 250 euros well spend, and I'd love to try it next to a Fender.
LeftyJ
I got a lefty 1981 MC924 today, in like-new condition (including the original lefty case, in perfect shape) at an incredible price. The electronics need some attention, but other than that it's perfect! Pics soon.
