dave_bass5
When I was young I would use any rig the rehearsal studios had and never complained or felt lacking. listening back to the old recordings I find nothing to complain about. So why have I spent a fortune over the past 10 years and only just achieved a tone I'm mostly happy with?
Japhet
Love my current rig(s) - see sig. The one I miss most is Trace 300SMX into Trace 1x15 and 4x10 cabs. No idea how it would stack up today, and certain that I couldn't cart it around.

[/quote] This is exactly what I think too. 10 years ago a band I was in got signed to a major and we did a tour with a named act. I used a Stingray into a 200w Ampeg BA210SP. That saw me through playing at all the venues on that tour, from the Cardiff Arena to the Hammersmith Apollo. I never worried about headroom or speaker dispersion or any of the other things I think about now. My sound, stage volume and overall happiness with my rig were just fine. It's this darn website that makes us constantly wanting for more!! Edited December 3, 2015 by interpol52

dave_bass5
Haha, yeah, this site isn't always good for us. My old job also allowed me to be on the internet most of the day without any restrictions. I think boredom also played a part.
anzoid
Just bought a pair of Mark bass NY121s to use with my GK MB500 head. Makes a wicked setup with my Steinberger Synapse 4-string - loving every minute of play time.
Painy
I'm hoping to be able to post my best rig ever in this thread in the new year
mimsy89
Loving my current rig at the moment. Trace smx 80s head into ampeg 6x10 hlf. Either a g&l l2500 or a sire v7 with a bunch of pedals (rusty box being essential)
