Good evening, all...
Here is my own, personal, view of the compositions presented in the monthly BC Composition Challenge, in randomly chosen order. I hope that at least some will be inspired to give the works a listen, and perhaps vote for their favourite. All the pieces can be heard here...

Straight in, straight to the point, no frills or preambule; a lead synth attacks an incisive melody over stabbed chords, funk/fusion drums and a low, syncopated, staccato bass. Meandering echoes give a 'surround sound' effect. The chords then take front of stage over a breakbeat rhythm, building a platform for the bass to shine with a sparkling descent, taking us neatly back to the lead synth, repeating the introductory riff. A space for the drums to express themselves briefly, announcing a 'hot' synth solo over jazz organ (B3..?) static chords, deftly underpinned by the rhythm section. Back to the top, with a twist in the final riff, closing the piece.
Fine virtuoso playing on all instruments, balanced perfectly, moving swiftly from theme to theme. So much so that we are rather taken aback when it comes to a rapid close, too quickly to have fully asimilated all the contents. This could have been developed over a much longer space/time, but the (too short...) glimpse we have here is excellent in its own right. Not too sure of the link to the picture, but a highly enjoyable listen. By the way, did I mention that it seemed too short..?
