Well, I guess Maruszczyk basses will cost us a bunch more now!
[/quote]Very true, maybe I need to shelve my new build pipe dream :(

However, on a slightly different note, I found this on the Public-Peace website, a rather nice piece of laid-back funk

... man, I can't believe the prices of these basses new. For less than the price of a new MIM Fender you can get a hand built bass that, by all press on here is a really decent instrument. I am seriously impressed and find it hard to see how other manufacturers can justify their pricing!!!

Soooo, after being messed around by a seller on a facebook bass group and then subsequently not being able to find anything that took my fancy, I decided to take the plunge and order the Maruszcyzk that i'd wanted in the first place anyway.

Looking forward to it turning up now. Exciting times!

Yep. I'm well past the honeymoon period with mine, and I still get misty-eyed when I pick them up. Fantastic things.

Like the music but hate the 'I'm feelin' it' hand gestures that someone's sold all soul and funk singers out there. Right out of the Janet and John book of stage presentation and - for me - mitigates against connecting emotionally with the song. Hate, hate, hate it!

Just received an email from Adrian, my Jake will be shipped today or tomorrow depending on when the balance which I have just transferred arrives in his bank account.

I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas! :)

Has anyone seen the 'White Rabbit' finish in the flesh? I need a backup for my L5, and I'm seriously considering a stock one. They look lovely in the pics.

Here it is, 32" scale, matching headstock, and I've called it "Old Thumper" rather than "Jake", which Adrian was happy to do after I sent him the artwork for the logo.
