Good evening, all...
Here is my own, personal, view of the compositions presented in the monthly BC Composition Challenge, in randomly chosen order. I hope that at least some will be inspired to give the works a listen, and perhaps vote for their favourite. All the pieces can be heard here...

A high-hat count-in and we're off, immediately plunged into a heavy-metal riff worthy of the best of 'em. Panned guitars, perfectly overdriven, and a hefty bass are driven by solid rock drumming, executing in tight harmony and unison a powerful riff; the genre is respected with convincing authenticity. The guitars cede the spotlight to the solo bass and drums, holding themselves back with only a hard punctuation of the tempo. Back to the riff, and another break for the bass to bask in an expression of freedom. We cannot escape the return of the main riff, however, which take us up to an interlude, in which the bass melodically plays 'question/response with a 'wah' guitar solo. A variant riff, heavier still, takes over with insistance; an abrupt end brings respite from the onslaught.
Solid heavy rock from the outset, we could be in early King Crimson territory. More aligned with the title than with the picture, the performance, although brief, holds our attention, imposing with vehemence a strong impression of mastery. Impeccable execution, apt choice of timbres for all the instruments, well composed (deceptive in its seemingly simplistic riffs...) and arranged. Uncluttered, no frills, no holds barred. A real 'head-banger'; not so lengthy as to provoke a migraine. Good, solid work.

Thanks for the kind words!
It was a real joy making it, and everyone's entries this month have been superb, even if a little abstract and widely interpreted!
Every month for the last year or there about's I've started one and gotten side tracked along the way, so glad I'm finally able to finish one!
