bakerster135
For that sort of tone I found the B3K was the one for me.
Really!? I've Never heard a B3K do anything like the sounds in either of those videos, and I owned one for a year...For me it made everything sound like Meshuggah or Periphery! Dapper Bandit
Really!?
I managed to get close to the QOTSA track with mine. If you're getting a Meshuggah like tone I would say you need to bring your bass volume down! This pedal is very responsive to different input volumes, much more so than all my other dirtboxes (fnarr fnarr).
LayDownThaFunk
If you like the Fulltone OCD, get the EHX OD Glove. Exact same pedal at a third the price.
BassAgent
Thanks for the replies people! I got a few helpful guys in the area with some ideas as well, and they were happy to borrow me their modded RAT, Marshall Guv'nor (also modded), Fuzzface (germanium) and Fulltone Mosfet Bass Drive. I'll be testing these. Very exciting.
BassAgent
Update: I tested the Fulltone and was very pleasantly surprised. So I got in touch with the guy behind Technophobia effects, and he told me he could build me one for a very decent price with a few small mods I wanted. So I got that. And my word. That is a mighty cool pedal. Doesn't look like it, but trust me. It is.
Sibob
Nice, are they push/pull pots on the top row? Si
BassAgent
Nope, just higher pots. Don't really know why, I guess it's for foot turning reasons.
Prime_BASS
So this is a full tone bass drive clone?
BassAgent
It's based on the classic tube screamer design, but modded and tweeked to make the sound that I wanted
barnsie
DHA VT. It's a tube in a box that you overdrive - what's not to like?
+1 on the DHA VT series Big choice of VT1 (single 12ax7) and VT2 (2 12ax7's for extra gain stages). Dave will custom build your ideal pedal if his standard ranges don't quite do it for you. http://www.davehallamps.co.uk
Sibob
I have a DHA VT-2 for sale as well! Yay go overdrive! Si
