F is the kind of note that will be very polite and charming when it arrives, and you're delighted it's there, but later, when it's gone, you realise all your silver cutlery is missing.

You can tell C sharp has been around when your bins have been overturned and your dog's pregnant.

Double-sharps really get up my nose, they're always trying to get above their station. Deflated, sagging double-flats, on the other hand, I just feel sorry for.

If you have an adversion to F and Bb etc I guess you don't play with horns much..??

Or maybe it's playing with horns that gives you that aversion.

I love watching keyboard players squirm playing numbers in C# and even F#.

Stuff that, my keyboard has a perfectly good Key Transpose function.

Playing with the horn can be quite tricky...

Really gone off playing in A major, despite many hundreds of great tunes in that key.

Another fan of F#, a nice purpley key and Ab, green with a silver edge.

It wouldn't be to me...and I don't have a preference to any key.
I do like a sax in the band, but it can be hard to justify the work
AND cost a horn section of even a sax can be, for what they
bring to the band.

But if you do jazz gigs, you are certainly going to get horn keys
thrown at you.

The first band I played in was a Glenn Miller tribute band (I played rhythm guitar). That was very much at the start of my musical career (if you can call it that), when I couldn't even play 6-string barre chords. Transposing instruments - just say no (except when they're a keyboard and you want to play without the black keys, of course).
