GK MB800

Bit of history - i bought a new (USA made) MB800 last year and whilst i liked the sound and form factor it had the most appalling build quality (it went back immediately)

loose control knobs (2 came off when i pulled them very, very gently to check) and a volume pot that was not properly tightened on the front panel
missing case screws
stripped case screws
dents / scratches on the front panel
a speakon connector that was so tight you could hardly get a connector in it

apart from that - top notch stuff.....

i like the form factor because i can rack it in a 1U space and i do like the sound and therefore am contemplating giving them another go. sooooo....my question is - has anyone else had similar quality issues with recently bought GK MB800's ? - their supposed move back to 'made in the USA to control quality blah blah blah' didn't seem to work in this instance - indeed my older (Chinese made) MB200 was flawless in comparison

the other amp i'm mulling over is a Carvin BX700 - different sound altogether i would think and a bigger rack space (2U) but might be worth a try....

all opinions welcome

cheers.
Have the recent MB500. So far so good.
I bought an MB 500 about 18 months ago and it's doing sterling work.

The only problem I've had was they changed the specs in manufacturing since the tech data was published and it no longer had a 1/4 inch socket nestled inside the centre of the Speakon connectors on the rear.

Solved by GAK sending me a Speakon to 1/4 inch cable FoC.
