TheRev
Don't think we've had a spangly blue one yet, so here's mine. Bought in 2000 and I haven't looked at another bass since

johnnylager
'On loan' '78 or '79 'Ray with added Geddy Lee! After playing the 'Ray for 3 days solid, I was thinking I'd never use the GL again. Then I heard it through an Orange stack and it's going nowhere! [attachment=12243:DSC01034.JPG][attachment=12242:DSC01033.JPG]

And poorly kept, I'd imagine. The hole is a sticker, not a hole.

johnnylager
See Kiwi's post (#2) for what seems to be a much better kept example of a simlar vintage. mistahbenn
Some nice basses up here. I just took a few of my old workhorse 1995 Teal 5, has a real nice grain so got a clear plate for it, rusty polepieces from many sweaty gigs... Sound has mellowed with time, but still sounds great! The tuner & MultiComp fit in the gig bag, so bosch - no pedal board to lug around and I'll use any bass rig at the venue or studio, I'm not proud. One bag, lush. Why did I not know this 25 years ago? lee650
Wow thats one gorgeous stingray!!! love the birdseye fretboard!! Ive always loved the musicman sound as one of my heroes is "Louis Johnson" but ive always shy'd away from getting one, until a fortuitous trade with mr warwickhunt bagged me this beauty!!!!! This is Rita my new 2003 Sterling in Cherry burst with matching headstock and a nordstrand pickup fitted[attachment=12579:demi_moores_019.jpg][attachment=12580:demi_moores_012.jpg] A total beauty im very pleased with it , i dont really use the switching just the parallel (i think) setting at the back for the proper stingray sound i dont really like the other settings, the grain in the ash is amazing need to sort some close up photos i think.Anyway keep posting those lovely rays, i particulary fancy an all natural double pickup sterling 5 ( i like the smaller neck and body as im a cissy) http://basschat.co.uk/public/style_emoticons/%3C#EMO_DIR%23%3E/laugh.png Lee Edited September 16, 2021 by lee650

You're right, it's metallic blue pearl but when I bought it I think they called it electric blue or just blue pearl. This was back in the day when they only offered Sterlings in five or six colours.
