Hi everyone
Youve met her before this is Rita (named after classic hollywood redhead Rita Heyworth) a 2003 Sterling in cherryburst with a nordstrand pickup (alnico magnets, for a bigger sound more akin to a stingray).
The reason im posting this is ive just bought from our very own Rowbee a lovely vintage white pearl scratchplate, and ive took a few before/during /after pics of rita getting her new frock :P

[attachment=20270:P2120138.JPG][attachment=20271:P2120139.JPG]

This is her with the original standard white scratchplate, its ok but it think the lovely finish, needs something a bit more classy.

[attachment=20272:P2120141.JPG][attachment=20273:P2120143.JPG][attachment=20274:P2120144.JPG]

This is her Butt naked, a lovely cherryburst finish, i must say EBMM finishes are just incredible(IMO) and really put a lot of companys to shame, i will i think get a clear perspex scrathplate eventually to really show off the grain on the one piece ash body.
SEXY GIRL ;)

[attachment=20276:P2120149.JPG][attachment=20275:P2120150.JPG] [attachment=20278:P2120148.JPG]

This is the lovely new new scratchplate, i dont think my camera has brought the pearl out much though, its a lovely off white colour and i think it really complements the finish, def looks a little classier.
So do you like her new frock, i think its the biz but a clear one would look amazing.
Hope you like the pics, have a great weekend everyone - lee

I've had a few over the years but didn;t take pics of all of them. here's pics of some of the ones I did.

This one i got for a stupid price on Ebay and i bought it purely to sell again since its a lefty and I ain't

My 20th Anniversary

This one played like crap

My only fretless one

A teal fellow

I've owned many basses but this one, along with my Rick 4003BB is the most beautiful

My 30th anniversary - sadly all the other good pics of this on Imageshack are corrupted and I don;t have any others on my PC

The main one missing is my very first one - a black with black plate and rosewood fretboard SR5 bought in 1999 for the sum of £999 when I was going through my Flea phase

Had a few of these MM basses over the years, here's the current MM family member, a 2005 LTD buterscotch 4 string (photo's courtesey of Flanker, the previous owner)

I've had a few MM's over the years - now just have the 2, a SR5 and a SR4.

The first Ray4 I had (owned from new 1990) was a White 2EQ with the old style bridge - sold it beacuse I thought I wanted to get into Warwick - tsk.

Then moved onto a Black 2004 Sterling, didn't really get on with this - so I moved it on fairly quickly and it now sits with Kaiu with Elliot Minor.

Couldn't live without an MM for long so the Warwicks went and the red 2005 SR4 came in, still have this and use it on jam nights when I need to cut through.

The most recent addition is a blue SR5 (2002) with matching headstock. Still getting used to this as I'm not really a 5 string guy but enjoying it so far.

Well i am in love with this thread! ;)

This is my `Ray dating to 2004. Just a standard 3EQ. Its the only bass i`ve played since 2004 and it does everything. I`m currently in a heavy rock band and its tuned down to C . G . C . F and sounds beautiful! Occassionaly i have drop a further step and still she handles it perfectly!

Does anyone know where is best to get pickguards? Im thinking of a chrome one or clear.

Cheers, Steve

Try dasbootman on Ebay - he's in the US but I can vouch for the quality of his pickguards so the postage wait is well worth it.

+1. I've bought several pickguards from him, including a Stingray, and they've all fitted perfectly. Pretty quick delivery too.
