thepurpleblob
Not sure if this bass has featured before as it came out of a trade with another BC member. Anyway, 1996 StingRay 5... in beige [attachment=45481:Full_Bass_Front.jpg] [attachment=45482:Body_Front_Close.jpg] Edited March 24, 2010 by thepurpleblob
warwickhunt
It's been a LONG time since I've had a Ray but it had to be done. I'm really surprised at how much more than a one trick pony it can be, especially with flats on. My past experiences with Rays left me cold as I just couldn't seem to get away from that aggressive upfront tone, wonder if it's me, the strings or the bass that has changed (3 band rather than my old 2 band, though I've not been tweaking the EQ much on the bass)? I do have to confess I was holding out for a 2005 'Buttercream' Sterling or a really tasty sunburst Sterling but as this was local I went for it... now has anyone got a Sterling to trade?

budget bassist
Phwoar, very tasty, did you not have a sterling in that finish as well at one point? Also, don't go anodised gold, i don't think it will go right, and it will look pretty tacky. Pearloid would look nice though i think.
