Combined with a programmable sansamp and subtle finger position and dynamic playing changes i have all i need. Saying that, I wouldnt rule out trying or buying one if i liked them. Have you got one? is it much different/better than the H? Cheers Dave

It took me ages to 'get' which 5 string was right for me, and then I did even more research into which pickups would be right. The HS is the best of both worlds for what Im after. The Classic 4 is going to be birdseye Edited April 30, 2010 by Musicman20
Shockwave
Bit annoying, the purple SR5 being the second SR5 i have owned, both had problems where the G string slot on the nut was cut too close to the edge of the fingerboard. I use quite light G's (30-40) And they slip off the edge very easily. Had to get a new bone nut made, and everything seems to be hunky dory

Shockwave
Looks like i am extending my musicman collection! I am really cleaning myself out for this! Any guesses? To get it, i offered ebay seller a large amount of cash to sell it to me for a fixed price, pull the current auction and relist it as a "Buy it now", so i essentially backdoored it, possibly from one of you guys! That's certainly a very nice looking Ray. Do you know the year, at all? Not sure about the plain white guard on the natural body, to be perfectly honest. But that's just me! stingrayPete1977
Its Date stamped Nov 24 1982 and all checks out original for that date.I have a rectangular case of the same age but its not what it came in although it might be a musicman case,No one seems to know exactly what cases are correct for which year? Thanks for that on the mouse mat,I have seen that before somewhere but I had forgot! I read somewhere that you can buy them from Ernie Ball anyway but with the classic ray out maybe even more possible.Im going to get some more pics took today for insurance if nothing else showing it at my house. The pickguard will always be a personal thing but my eb has a black one so its a bit different also check out how clearly you can see John Deacon in the another bites the dust video with his white pickguard at one time it was easy to tell it was a ray with the underslung tuner but with all the 5 stringers out there that have copied it the next sure sign is always the big humbucker sat on that scratchplate!
