Higgie Posted May 21, 2012 Posted May 21, 2012 (edited)
Similarly to Higgie's case, this is the one that started it all for me (Stingray-wise): not merely the brother, but the TWIN of Higgie's bass!!! Same year, same colour, same birdseye, same clear pickguard.....
Wow! Cool that we both have the same bass virtually. What's the Serial No. on yours? Just wondering how close together they were built! I've also got a matching Fretless but with 3 band EQ and unlined Pau Ferro board - The serial numbers are literally only 300 odd apart! Me And My Bass Posted May 22, 2012 Posted May 22, 2012 New ebay bargain buy! 1991 (tbc) SR4. Clear pickguard & high figured neck. TheGreek Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012
Here's my 2001 'Ray - nicer looking than my 1994 (now with Sshorepunk) but somehow lacks something that the old girl had..this has a plain Maple neck as opposed to Bird's Eye on the '94, later 'Rays don't have the string dampeners and this lacks the Detuner, which I didn't use anyway..eevn so I find myself reminiscing for the '94.. Bass-Thing Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012
I think the humble musicman bass deserves it's own porn thread, they're not the most expensive, but they're definitely some of the best basses you can get short of getting a custom shop! To get the ball rolling, here's my not so expensive, but still lush sounding and playing SUB bass: Let's see what other beauties you guys have got, i know there are plenty out there! EDIT: sorry for the huge photos if any of you have particularly slow internet like mine is being at the moment!
That is beautiful. Mine is exactly the same except I've stuck a mirror pickguard on it. Can I just ask you how you are posting your photos? I can only stick tiny little thumbnails on. Quote

Gust0o Posted July 17, 2012 Posted July 17, 2012
My new SR5. It's a 2007 Custom order that never got picked up by the customer! The bass is virtually new and the best 5 string bass I've played. It's a wonderful bass to play and weighs an unbelievable 9lbs, so very comfortable too. For the first time ever, I have as many Stingrays as I do Fenders.
Not for that long, chief - is this not the one that's now for sale? Quote
