I have been GASing for a Big Al ever since they came onto the market...in tobacco burst. Yours is sublime!
Thanks man, I only got the white as it was £300 cheaper :) and it kind of reminds me of the Woodstock Hendrix Strat.

The tobacco burst that sold on here in Dec 2012 looks spectacular. Never again have I seen a single Big Al pop up second hand.

Hi all

This is my current black beauty, a 2 band EQ recently purchased from a fellow bass chatter. It's immaculate without a scratch on it and sounds fantastic.

The blue one was my first, a 3 band that was also absolutely gorgeous. At the time of selling. my band had wrapped up and I just didn't have time to sort a new project out due to work commitments. Again, this was sold to a bass chatter and I'm sure it went to a good home.

I just love 'em!

Cheers

Good to hear it's still in safe hands. I've seen very few in that colour paired with maple.

It is gorgeous, the colour changes depending how the light hits it.

Here's my EBMM 25th Anniversary HSS 4 string with a flame top and maple neck. These seem to be a real 'marmite' bass on here - some love 'em, some hate 'em. Personally, I think it's great

Nice!! What kind of neck is that mate? Fretboard looks like ebony, has the neck been stained? Ahh or have you been messing with the camera?
The rest of the pic is B&W so makes the rosewood look darker.

Here's my two: a 1979 factory fretless Sabre and 1980 fretted Sabre (both rosewood).

That's really cool Dave!
I've never found 'cool' something I had to work at !

I have little respect for punters - they wouldn't know if I were as good as John Entwhistle or John noakes - so I know thy won't remember my playing. I figure that when they sober up in the morning and can recall a foul mouthed bastard with a daft looking guitar covered in beer bottle labels that put a smile on their faces while relieving them of a few quid then I've done my job.

The pickguard's just the normal one with beer bottle labels stuck on with wallpaper paste then trimmed with a scalpel and varnished. I could have bought a clear one and put them underneath but that would have cost at least 12 quid. The dice are a fairly snug fit but I tapped them and put tiny grub screws in too.

I stick an empty box of nicorette patches under the strings at the head end and divide the world into people I'll like - because they get the gag - and tossers .

since yesterday, I cannot stop thinking about rainbow coloured furry guitar straps!
:o  <_< :P

Exactly - so if it stays in your mind , it stays in the william's minds too. The one on my Blue Flower look like a dead dog , in fact many folk think I made it from the hide of a dead Alsatian - mostly because of the lies I tell them.

I don't mind bass players who are happy to stay out of the limelight and just get on with their gig , that's great - a lot of my favourite players are like that. What I won't tolerate is those who stand in the shadows putting jack sh*t into image/performance/entertaining then bleat that guitar players and singers get all the glory. Cupid stunts. Stop chelping , put some thought into how the williams see you then proceed to the front of the stage and work for your share of the spoils.
