My 2 for now:)

sTPZoRu.jpg

A 79 sabre and a classic model stingray.

The sabre is strung with Fender flats which makes the character really come out, especially with 2 pickups engaged.

The brand new classic just arrived yesterday.

Ive had it set up to my likings (nut needed to be leveled down) and it really plays great. Though I didnt have the chance to plug it in yet. My practice rig is now stored (after a small gig last weekend) at our bands rehearsel space, and I wont be able to play this beauty plugged before next monday😥

Nice basses!.........Why did you remove the mutes from the Classic?

Thank you:)

They are there. The picture appears to be a bit dark, my apologies. I tried to put them in an angle so that the classics neck wouldnt reflect to much😁

Yes they are, I have just taken another look with the image enlarged. Is that a flame neck, it looks different to my birdseye Classic neck but looks really good.

My pair of Sterlings.  I’m toying with the idea of switching the necks around.

Not only am I a sucker for black and maple, I also love rosewood and natural 😍

Watch this space 😎

I did that in 2010 with 2 Sterlings  I was deciding between - ended up with massive tone differences from how they originally were. The ash body and rosewood neck was an absolute Powerhouse, though that may just have been a 'special tree' combination thing rather than 'tone woods' thing... :)

Especially the natural with rosewood neck has a improved look to my taste :)

It is a pretty special look 😁

I think maple on both looks the best, especially on the Natural.

But I do love a bit of rosewood 😉

IIRC When we did a Maple-v-RW fretboard challenge at the Herts Bash RW came out on top nearly every time.
