MUSICMAN PORN THREAD

Hi. Here's my Ray35. It's been around a bit, previously owned by two other basschat members. It sounds great, feels great to play and looks pretty good as well.

The dark colour one is my Subray 5. Also from another basschat member. I've swapped the preamp for a Darkglass Tone Capsule which is a big improvement and will probably put in a Seymour Duncan pickup as well.

^ that Ray35 was mine for a while. Lovely thing it is too. In fact was tempted to buy it back off Darren earlier this year.

It's really nice. Really glad I bought it. I don't know if this is a particularly good one or they're all this good.

Yours was an earlier (and better build imo) than the black cherryburst 5 I had at the same time. Hard to quantify but just some subtle differences that elevated it that bit higher

Hopefully one of these will be in my future. Not the single H, this one with the three single coils 😍

These are incredible basses, far too good for me, but if you cannot replicate a tone, or are looking for one and you cannot get it with this..........well...!

Hey!

This is what I was looking for while shopping for a Special, and couldn't found anything similar at the time. Now I had a chance to made one which can maybe help someone decide between ''old'' Ray or Special. No talk, no procrastination just a sound test.  I hope you enjoy it 😉.

That's a nice comparison of the old and the new. Shows that the fundamental Stingray sound is right there in both models. :)

I'm curious to know how you recorded them. I'm assuming DI into interface? Or was it an amp/combo setup (DI or mic-ed)? Were external EQ's flat?

I got the Big Al 5 SSS a few pages about not long ago. They really are amazing. No way I’ll ever sell it, and that’s saying something. If I had to take only one bass that would suit any style of music it would be the Big Al. That sound when you turn all the pickups off and get bridge/middle in series… :)

2002 2EQ Fretless EBMM Stingray

Had been looking for a 2EQ Fretless for about 5 years. Finally got lucky. Stingray is pretty common over here but fonding a fretless was a ling wait.20210318_101416.thumb.jpg.d5d8ade5f52f9ebccda2d030141b383c.jpg

My dream bass and it's pretty impossible to find a fretless Stingray anywhere.

A cat over here told me that EB no longer make fretless.

I had a look on EBAY for Fretless 5. Only 1 showed up (Australia) would be about $6200NZ

Not in my zone for something I couldn't play first
