davidmpires
I'm back... sort off Back in 2010 the band I was in played the Roadhouse in Covent Garden, London and shortly after we disbanded. I then focused on my upcoming wedding, and my enrolment into Uni for an evening degree which I am hopefully finishing this summer. I sold my Markbass F1, TC 2x10, barefaced cab and my Spector Euro LX 5 and kept only my status T-bass which hasn’t seen the light of day ever since. I would like to go back to playing, but just for fun at home so I’ll be starting shopping soon. I’ve seen the TC 250 208 which I like, tone print is a plus and I would like to get a decent pair of headphones otherwise my marriage will be ruined to the sound of Sir Duke. Other than that can anyone recommend a good practice amp, if it has the ability to connect an external audio source the better. That way I could have both the bass and the songs I’m practicing coming through the headphones. Which leads me to another question, what sort of headphones to you recommend, I have some old sennheiser cans which I might start with, but I have a 5’er and that low B can come out sounding pretty hash through mediocre headphones. I’ll be getting some strings and taking the T-Bass to Bass Gallery for some much needed TLC. Thanks in advance, feels good to be back David
gary mac
Welcome back. I have been using a Fender Rumble practice amp for the last few years and have found it to be very reliable. It also does have the phone socket and cd in sockets that you require. There are more sophisticated amps out there but it does what I need. Not got much experience of headphones, sorry. simonc61
There's a Crate BT50 in the for sale forum here. Nice little amp with a great sound. I borrowed one off a friend a while back to rehearse with and the band were very complimentary about it. He's only asking £50. I'm pretty sure it has an aux in too. Headphones-wise I can highly recommend the Audio Technica ATH-M50's. I've had mine a few years and very happy with them. Very comfortable and great for everything - listening to music, recording etc. They've got an excellent bass response too. Failing that look at Dave Marks website, he swears by V-Moda phone's and has written about them on there. Hope that helps.

davidmpires
Thanks everyone. I'll check it out. I've been reading reviews on the Fender Bronco 40 with Fuse technology it looks like a nice piece of kit and cheaper than TC

Telebass
Can recommend Sennheiser hd 212Pro, hd 202 or 203, all similar. Very light, no worries with a 5er, and not too pricey. Used them for years.
