Now only for sale within the UK.

This, sadly, sits in a corner pining for a new home. I have had it for at least 15 years and I am led to believe it's an 80s bass (?). I think it's a fair price - anybody has a clue, do tell.

In good condition for its age with a couple of scratches on the front (hardly noticeable), a bit of buckle rash (not serious) on the back and one small ding as shown in the pic. It has some sticker glue residue under the lower horn (technical name ;-) ) - I don't have anything to remove it at the mo.

Neck is fine and I have thrown away the 93 year old strings an put on some black 'uns - which is nice.

Passive bass, would make a nice starter.

Sorry about the dust - I gave it a quick once over but it needs some TLC...

Any questions, ask away.

Price is plus p+p.

I had one of these in the early 1990s and it was a great bass - bit gutted I ever sold it really. Loud, bright, lively P bass-alike.

that's a good price for a great bass.

Bargain price for a Japanese Charvel, especially with the Jackson pup.

Can't say I'm not tempted, I would have loved to have this back in the day B)

Yes these are fantastic quality. Mine is very heavily played and beat up but is still one of the best playing and sounding basses I've ever used.

I had to import mine over from the states and pay some stupid amount on import duty and parcelforces ransom charges.

Good to see one of these. I tried one out back in the day but got a 2B instead with the J pickup. The neck on the 1B was a bit chunkier I seem to remember but still a good bass. Charvel build quality is great and they really last. My 2B is still going strong although it's on its 3rd set of pups as I have changed them to activate.

Hi Shaun,

Lovely bass! Would you happen to know the exact year?

GLWTS!

I'm not sure if it's possible to find out unless you still have the tags (if it came with any). I've tried to find out the exact year of mine based on serial number but haven't had any luck.

The J20 pickup means 87/88, and the Charvel headstock decal with ® but no TM probably makes it 88. Great website for Charvels, that one.

EDIT: '87 basses have a TM on the neckplate, '88s have ®.

This has an ® on the headstock, but a TM on the neck plate = 1987 - cheers Mr. H :-)

(Edited for neckplate vs headstock)

Thanks for posting this! I've looked at the table on there but never read about that. Turns out mine is also an '87.
