Funky Dunky Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 How much roughly did it skin you? I'm sending back my Sterling Sub Ray4 in the original boxing. I paid £10 for delivery on purchasing it, but I imagine it'd cost more to send it back? Thanks Quote
franzbassist Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I returned a defective bass recently, so that cost me nothing (other than the £40 I lost on the exchange rate!), but if you are simply returning because you are unhappy I assume it will cost the full price of your courier of choice, or perhaps a fixed charge if Thomann arrange it. Grangur Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I've just returned a bass. Under the distance selling regs it gets paid by the seller in the first 14 days. Thomann still accept back after 14 day, but you then have to pay the carrier cost of £15 Quote
Funky Dunky Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 Ah, interesting...maybe that's why they told me it would take 14 business days for them to answer my enquiry about the exchange product!! What's the protocol then, do you ring or email etc? What did you have to do? I emailed them to inform them I wanted to send it back, what do I do next? Quote
Grangur Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 (edited) Go to http://THO.MN/RETRN then enter your account details and the reason why and they send an email with the address labels. I wasn't getting an exchange. But I think you should go for a "return" and then buy as a separate transaction. Edited February 1, 2015 by Grangur Quote
Green Alsatian Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 (edited) You can request that they collect the bass from you. When I wanted to return a defective bass last year, they provided me with the shipping labels with instructions to take it to the post office. However, the post office were unable to process it and the bar code wasn't scanning. I contacted Thomann and asked if they could collect and they arranged this. As others have said, if the instrument is defective, you won't pay for return shipping. If returning because you don't like it, you have the option to pay upfront for return shipping or for them to arrange it, collect and then deduct the £15 (or so) shipping from your refund, which is easier. Funky Dunky Posted February 1, 2015 Author Posted February 1, 2015 That's fab guys, thank you. I'm returning simply because I want something else, the product is not defective. I will do a straight return and refund rather than an exchange. Thanks for your help and the info. Quote
ambient Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I sent a faulty monitor back to them recently and it cost nothing at all. They emailed a return shipping thing, and I took it along to the post office. They had it back the following evening. Quote
yorks5stringer Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 Defective-they pay, changed your mind- you pay! Quote
