AndyTravis Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 Had a quick 10 minutes with it, first impression - it's a combination of my favourites from the last 12 months... Sounds a bit like the kingbass, good. Feels like a status neck. Good - loved my kingbass but it was too small and uncomfortable over long rehearsals. Hangs like a fender, which suits me perfectly. The B string is wonderful like the briefly owned neck through BTB I took in trade. And it's sparkly red. Weight's 9lbs at most I'm thinking 8.8lbs. Shazam! Quote
kodiakblair Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Great to hear that Andy. Now get those 8000 words done and have another 10 minutes Quote
lonestar Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Very nice. May I ask how much ? Looking forward to reading the full review. Quote
Machines Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Sounds like you're really happy with it. When are you selling it? Quote
AndyTravis Posted February 4, 2015 Author Posted February 4, 2015 Well in honesty it's something I actually need, the Danelectro was a 'want'. The Roscoe Beck was a 'shouldn't have sold that' moment. The Kingbass was ergonomically a nightmare for me, as was a Dearmond I had for 4 days 😄 This is a healthy mix of Fender shaped (loosely) with modern electronics and graphite neckedness. And at the bargain under £500 for a posh USA made bass, I've redeemed myself. Quote
biro Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Enjoy your G5. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I did mine. Howeeeever, if you dont't... If you ever sell it, please, please, please do let me know Quote
AndyTravis Posted February 10, 2015 Author Posted February 10, 2015 Did the first rehearsal with this tonight. Great bass, the guitarist said "I never notice basses sounding different, but that thing is bonkers..." Think he likes it. Quote
