chrismuzz Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 I accidentally won this auction for a Peavey Classic 400... Looks like I got a good price though!! http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=161575139082&alt=web Quote
Beer of the Bass Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 (edited) You can't really go wrong at that price, and I think I'd have had trouble resisting if I saw one that cheaply locally. Edited February 2, 2015 by Beer of the Bass Quote
chrismuzz Posted February 2, 2015 Author Posted February 2, 2015
WHoops indeed. There goes a disc.
100lbs apparently, that's twice the weight of my cabinet I wouldn't say it was particularly local, its a 300 mile round trip but considering the cost, and if it's in working order its gonna be worth it. I was only looking for a backup amp!! Quote
chrismuzz Posted February 2, 2015 Author Posted February 2, 2015
Do you mean a mess-your-back-up amp?
That's the one I've messaged the seller trying to sort collection out but no response so far, my spine may be safe yet! Quote
taunton-hobbit Posted February 2, 2015 Posted February 2, 2015 (edited) Don't be a wimp - I drove to Bristol to pick up the Worlds best known Matamp 300 slave (the green beast with the iron crosses) - currently being fitted with new sockets/input caps and KT120s - face south-west and pray people! Yeah, the mighty shall walk amongst us........... Edited February 2, 2015 by taunton-hobbit Quote
chrismuzz Posted February 5, 2015 Author Posted February 5, 2015 (edited) It works! It's an absolute beast and was worth the 350 mile round trip (and the slipped disc!) PS. Yes I do put drinks on my amps, go f*** yourself Edited February 5, 2015 by chrismuzz Quote
Bottle Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 (edited)
PS. Yes I do put drinks on my amps, go f*** yourself
Hehehe bet it keeps them nice and toasty too! PS nice amp and piccie FTW - needs to go in the 'gear porn' thread Edited February 5, 2015 by Bottle Quote
discreet Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 That is a total bargain for such heft and power. But I don't envy you - I've already had one hernia repaired. Quote
chrismuzz Posted February 6, 2015 Author Posted February 6, 2015 (edited)
Hehehe bet it keeps them nice and toasty too!
Haha I did read online that they might get a bit warm, so the first thing I did when I got it home was to remove the wooden front panel and just have the grill there For better air flow.. looks cooler too!! I've got two weeks until it gets gigged for the first time which will give me a chance to clean it... (You won't believe how many cobwebs were inside!!) Its going to look great when I get it all shiny. It's just a shame that half of the pots and knobs have been changed, I'd have liked them to be all original.
