bubinga5 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Seems i have a scratching noise coming from the input on my Aguilar when i move the lead or spin the jack.. i know close to zero about amp tech. any ideas what this might be. is it an easy fix.. i have a repair guy in mind but don't want to go to him if i don't need.. Or could it be my lead i ask myself.? Quote
discreet Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 That would be the first thing to check. Quote

JPJ Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I don't know the internal layout of the AG500, but its possible that the input socket is surface mounted to the preamp circuit board. Over time, the action of plugging in and unplugging leads could have caused a crack in one of the solder joints causing the scratchiness and crackling. Sounds like you need to visit your friendly local amp tech. Quote
