Bassman64 Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 I've just got an Ashdown Evo ii 500w head but the transformer seems to be fairly noisy. In a quiet room you can hear it twenty feet away, is this usual? I thought it may be the fans at first, but having taken the top off it's definitely the transformer. Thanks in advance for your help! Quote

machinehead Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 It's called "50Hz hum" and can be caused by slightly vibrating laminated core plates or the mounting being loose. As above, try tightening the holding down screws first. Frank. Quote
