Annoying Twit Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 I must admit that I've seen better (cosmetic at least) choices for modern reissues of 1950s/1960s basses. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kay-KV162-Bass-Natural-/111592160931?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item19fb693ea3 Quote
discreet Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 That looks amazing compared with the crappy Woolworth's Kay bass I had in 1973! Put me off sunburst for more than forty years! Quote
AndyTravis Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I really, really like these. Kitschy. Quote
BigRedX Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) Could almost make me contemplate playing a 4-string bass. Edited February 6, 2015 by BigRedX Quote

Clarky Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 I think these are very cool, I contemplated buying one but the new price of over £1k seemed exorbitant. BCer Paul King has one (he posted pics on TalkBass) and lovely it is too! Quote
Bassassin Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 Pig-ugly IMO, but interesting - the original US-made Kay "Kelvinators" are very collectable and the reissues are pretty pricey too. Don't suppose those nice Cort-built neck-through Kays from the early 80s will ever command similar prices... Jon. Quote
