Funky Dunky Posted February 6, 2015 Posted February 6, 2015 (edited) Yeah, he showed up when I was looking through bass covers of Uptown Funk. I dig his tone and feel, thought his was the best version. Edited February 6, 2015 by Funky Dunky Quote

Jenny_Innie Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 Meh. Ain't go not guts. Too top for me. Quote
Roland Rock Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 It is a bit toppy, but that works well when paired with that sampled/vocal bassline. Great player, and looks cool doing it. He gets the official RR thumbs up Quote
joeystrange Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 (edited) That guy's good! I liked his sound on Paramore cover too. It might just be the glasses and hair but he kinda looks like Joe Bonamassa. Edited February 7, 2015 by joeystrange Quote
bubinga5 Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 (edited) erm. if he didn't open his shirt and have sunglasses on i would say he's great. so i minus 1 point for ego. .. i still give him 89%. great playing all the same. just leave mr twat at home. WTF is toppy.? Edited February 7, 2015 by bubinga5 Quote
theyellowcar Posted February 7, 2015 Posted February 7, 2015 I give him a 'subscribed'. Good player, nice range of covers. Quote
xilddx Posted February 8, 2015 Posted February 8, 2015 Not that keen on those type of tones but they work for the sort of music he plays. He's good. Quote

[/quote] His top is unbuttoned :-D Lots of top end zing The way he unbuttons the shirt on camera suggested to me that it was very tongue in cheek, a homage to the Kool and the Gang/Ladies' Night style funk that the song so heavily borrows from. Brother Jones Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 He could have dropped to a D and played the main line with more oomph. It's more fun that way... Quote
