Cameronj279 Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Was on Youtube looking at various "how to build a bass" type videos noticed ACG has some time lapses up and most of which seem to use songs by one artist but I can't figure out who it is. I could message him but I figure he has better things to do really http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UImirgGylHQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uk2QNbuqVyc Quote
pantherairsoft Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Just message him! He's a member on here. (I have no idea) Quote

Weststarx Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Get the Shazam app on your phone! Its great, just press a button and it listens for music and will tell you what song it is straight away! Quote
chaypup Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 It's not famous enough for Shazam or Midomi to recognise. The lyrics don't get anything on Google either. Ask him! Quote
BigRedX Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 I thought the music was credited at the end of the time-lapse videos, but looking at the examples you posted it doesn't appear to be. Perhaps it was in the threads when Alan originally posted them in the Affiliates section? Quote
Cameronj279 Posted February 9, 2015 Author Posted February 9, 2015 I'll maybe message him if nobody here knows. I feel like I've messaged him enough with (most likely) daft questions about my Recurve Didn't think of that BRX, will have a look when I can get round to it Quote
skelf Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 (edited) The instrumentals are all written recorded and played by me. Which accounts for the quality of the playing. The songs with lyrics where written by myself and James Wheatcroft. I played bass, keyboards, clarinet, guitar and programmed the drums. James played guitar sang and wrote the lyrics. Recorded and engineered and mixed by me all a long time ago. I used them to avoid any copy write issues on You Tube. I would be very surprised if anyone had heard any of them. Cameronj279 Posted February 9, 2015 Author Posted February 9, 2015 Ah, that makes sense. Don't suppose there's anywhere I could go to buy/download the tracks? Really quite enjoyed them Quote
TheGreek Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 Sounds a bit like "Raintree Crow" - aka "Japan" - a Mick Karn influence??? Quote
skelf Posted February 9, 2015 Posted February 9, 2015 (edited) Rain Tree Crow one of my all time favourite albums so that comparison I would be more than happy with. The songs where recorded around 1987/88 so a few years before the RTC album. No I am afraid not but if you want them I can burn a CD of the various bits and pieces for the Bass Bash. Nice to hear. Quote
skelf Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 It is indeed. Are you going to make it to the Bash this year a good year to come down with Steve Lawson and stuff to give away. Quote
police squad Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I thought it was Japan. Very Mick Karn and David Sylvian. Very good though. really atmospheric stuff Quote
ead Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Not come across RTC before, just had a listen on line and CD is now on its way. Thanks for the heads-up guys. Quote
