kevvo66
I think of replacing my wilkinson pups in my harley benton vintage series, love the bass but not the lame pups,I would like sound like my fender, oh their both passive models, don't fancy spending a fortune as this mainly a back up bass for the fender at the mo,any suggestions, cheers
geoham
Have a look at Tonerider. I got one for my P from Amazon for about £35 - Very nice sound indeed - I use it as my main bass these days. The Jazz versions are £30 each, so about half of what you'd pay for something like Dimarzio or Seymour Duncans. Alternatively - see what you can get used on here, many many bargains! geoham
Also - whatever you get - make sure they'll physically fit! Quite a few variations of the Jazz pickups out there.
synthaside
i swapped out some crap Chinese pickups on a J bass not so long ago , if your looking for good and cheap i considered these http://www.entwistle...up.php?puid=JBX which some people rave about . In the end i found someone who had done a swap out of some Squire VM J Seymour duncans on the evilbay , they also threw the loam in but i imagine the wilkinson loom is a lot better than i had to work with.
